Made from a continuous framework of silicon-oxygen tetrahedra resulting in a semi-precious gemstone. Pure quartz, traditionally called rock crystal (sometimes called clear quartz), is colorless and transparent (clear) or translucent, and has often been used for hardstone carvings, such as the Lothair Crystal. Common colored varieties include citrine, rose quartz, amethyst, smoky quartz, milky quartz, and others.
Quartz crystal clusters and quartz crystal points should be in every home to bring harmony to the life force in the home. Quartz crystals have been used for healing, meditation and expanding the mind to touch the spirit world. A crystal cluster formation has many points embedded in the base. The emerging crystals may be large or small. Crystal Clusters radiate energy into the surrounding room or space and also are used to absorb negative energy.
Clear Quartz is a master healer crystal, and may be used for any condition. It is thought to stimulate the immune and circulatory systems, enhancing energy flow and bringing the body into balance. It has been used to treat migraine headaches, vertigo, in stabilizing dizziness or motion sickness, and is believed to assist with metabolism, exhaustion, and weight loss. Clear Quartz acts as a deep soul cleanser, purifying and enhancing the body's internal structure.
It focuses on inner negativity and stimulates positive thoughts and feelings in its place. With a better perception of the world, Quartz increases awareness and clarity in thinking, and provides enhanced energy, perseverance and patience, teaching one to live, laugh and love with all of humanity. Because Clear Quartz has the prismatic ability to vibrate its energy at all of the color frequencies, it vibrates our seven chakra centres simultaneously.
Quartz has been known and appreciated since pre-historic times. The most ancient name known is recorded by Theophrastus in about 300-325 BCE, κρύσταλλος or kristallos. The varietal names, rock crystal and bergcrystal, preserve the ancient usage. The root words κρύοσ signifying ice cold and στέλλειυ to contract (or solidify) suggest the ancient belief that kritallos was permanently solidified ice. The earliest printed use of "quertz" was anonymously published in 1505, but attributed to a physician in Freiberg. Germany, Ulrich Rühlein von Kalbe. By 1530, Agricola used the spelling "quartz" as well as "quertze", but Agricola also referred to "crystallum", "silicum", "silex", and silice". Tomkeieff (1941) suggested an etymology for quartz: "The Saxon miners called large veins - Gänge, and the small cross veins or stringers - Querklüfte. The name ore (Erz, Ertz) was applied to the metallic minerals, the gangue or to the vein material as a whole. In the Erzgebirge, silver ore is frequently found in small cross veins composed of silica. It may be that this ore was called by the Saxon miners 'Querkluftertz' or the cross-vein-ore. Such a clumsy word as 'Querkluftertz' could easily be condensed to 'Querertz' and then to 'Quertz', and eventually become 'Quarz' in German, 'quarzum' in Latin and 'quartz' in English. Beautiful addition to a rock/crystal collection, or a stunning point of interest ornaments. No stands are supplied with this product Due to the nature of the crystal, the crystal cluster will vary very slightly with regard to height, so sizes are approximate. Images are of actual product.
